Find your Silence
April 13, 2021
We have been busy as fuck.
We all have so many things to do, so many commitments. We could not slow down. We have debts to pay, works to be done, the promised weekend activities, and ton of shits to be done.
But when is the last time you slow down your daily steps and think about what you have been doing? Like, you doing it the correct way? the productive way? Or just do it for the sake of doing it? The why?
Well, nobody can speak for you. It is your life, your choice.
But your mind, soul and body.
But your mind, soul and body might appreciate if you take a short break. To be clear, I am talking about lying on bed or sofa while swiping social media all day. That’s unproductive lazy ass.
Give yourself “DO NOT DISTURB” time.
Unconsciously, social media took away so much of our time, our attentions. That’s where the social media companies make profits.
Social media makes us feel like we need something more, while we are actually enough. It makes us feel like we fall behind everything, while others living a decent or rich life, eating beautiful foods and enjoying the epic days. We all know the reality is otherwise.
Give yourself time off. Set time to stay away from these notifications or news feed, you might find yourself a better or more positive mindsets.
Me: I have deleted Facebook and I am actually better without it. I am on Twitter, but I chose who to follow carefully.
Take a vacation, explore the world.
You might wanna take a vacation to feel the existence of everything. The earth is big and beautiful. We are dust in the universe.
If you go to India or Korea to carry out your shopping spree, so you come back home feeling enough and fulfilled, this is a business trip.
We want to find ourself in the lost world, not find more materials to add into our life.
Experience the people, the foods, the culture, the land, water, mountain you are standing on.
Me: I personally prefer the places with less crowd. More local experiences and tastes.
Minimalist
We are actually more than enough, we do not need more. Give some to the needy.
I am sure you have a bunch of things sitting at the corner of your house for years. You might need it some days in the future. I think there are people really need those things more than you.
Being a minimalist might result in less crowded home, less crowded home leads to less messy mind, less messy mind leads to happier you.
I am not a minimal expert but I do have a few things in mind and I hope they might help:
- Do one thing and do it well.
- Schedule.
- Say NO.
Doing 5 things at a time might not yield best productivity.
Me: I believe less is more.
Silence
Silence does not mean lonely. It is time for yourself. Early morning or late night.
Give yourself silent time. You have 100% of the attention.
